Terms of Use
Last updated: 18 June 2026
Brise is a free Chrome extension made by Claap that layers a calm, keyboard-first interface on top of Gmail. By downloading or using Brise, you agree to these terms. They're short on purpose.
1. The extension is provided free, as-is
Brise is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. You use it at your own discretion and risk.
2. No affiliation
Brise is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google, Gmail, or Superhuman. "Gmail" and "Superhuman" are referenced only descriptively to explain what Brise does. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.
3. Acceptable use
You agree to use Brise lawfully and in line with Google's own terms for Gmail. The read-receipt feature is optional and off-by-toggle per message — you are solely responsible for using it in compliance with applicable privacy laws (see our Privacy Policy for GDPR/ePrivacy guidance).
4. Installation via Developer mode
Until Brise is available on the Chrome Web Store, it is installed by loading the unpacked extension in Chrome's Developer mode. This is a standard developer install. You are responsible for keeping the unzipped folder; deleting it removes the extension.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Claap shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use Brise, including any loss of data or disruption to your email workflow. Brise modifies the display of Gmail in your browser only and changes nothing in your Google account; you can remove it at any time and Gmail returns to normal.
6. Changes
We may update Brise and these terms from time to time. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
